The influence of substituting “normal coarse aggregate for coarse concrete aggregate with brick rubble” has been determined on the mechanical property of type I portland cement concrete, for which; Mixtures were dosed with two w/c ratios (0.67 and 0.68) and settling of 3”. “50 cylindrical specimens were prepared and cured for each w/c ratio in accordance with the ““Standard ASTM C 192 and ASTM C 39““. These were tested at ages of (7, 14 and 28) days for each w/c ratio”. “It is concluded that the substitution of the coarse brick rubble aggregate, with a maximum nominal size of 3/8”, does not significantly alter the compressive strength of the dosed concrete, being the unit weight of the concrete, wet, of 2,285.00 kg/m3”.
