“Representation of hybrid images through postmodern painting” This research project examines the phenomenon of hybridization in the visual arts, and that finally materialized with the individual exhibition of contemporary art entitled "TRANSITORY STATES" that was held in the gallery museum of the BANCO DE LA NACION, in the city of Cusco., where more than 25 pieces were exhibited, including paintings, collage, mixed techniques, installations and intervened photographs. One of the objectives of this exhibition is to invite reflection among art students and the public on contemporary art in the XXI century. The works presented inserts us into an interdisciplinary process, combining visual arts, philosophy, literature, photography, etc. What is interpreted as hybrid images is that which does not seek gender specificity or is delimited within a discipline, is heterogeneous, of mixed media, that breaks with traditional genres. Hybrid Arts are the artistic movement or trend of post-modernity, where the limits are not clear, everything is questionable and society lacks firm and generalized theories, today we see a consumerist man, concerned about buying and consuming and who intends to design his own life in a light way, a man mediated by information networks (television, internet, cell phone), where the modus vivendi of people has been substantially modified, Today in the visual arts, the ways of expressing , of interpreting and understanding creative processes are not rooted in a specific discipline or technique as used to be the case. Rather, various languages and concepts are mixed, promoting the enrichment of the work of art, and at the same time this broadens the creative horizons of artists, and of students at all stages of their education. The art of our time materializes in an artistic praxis characterized by the miscegenation and hybridization of numerous disciplines and media, The artist can incorporate or mix global techniques and languages with local content to build his own identity, we have to understand that our culture is a culture of transformations, and although some conservatives claim that the world does not change and that there are structures and concepts that must remain, the truth is x that everything flows, as Heraclitus of Ephesus said. Culture and art are transformed according to the time in which they arise.
