Determine if the D'Amico Classification is a predictor of post-prostatectomy prostate cancer recurrence Materials and methods: A Systematic Review of primary studies that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of 7 databases was carried out. The use of the D'Amico classification in patients prostatectomized for prostate cancer was analyzed and investigated. The risk of the tool was assessed using the Cochrane Collaboration tool. Results: 871 articles were identified, 334 articles were reviewed in title and abstract, finally 72 articles were evaluated in full text according to the established criteria and 7 of them were included in the study. 5620 patients were included, the mean age was 65.14 years, a follow-up time of approximately 50 months was obtained, and an average PSA of 7.27 ng/ml was also obtained. A statistically significant difference was found between the use of the D'Amico Classification and the recurrence of post-prostatectomy prostate cancer. It was also shown that this classification allows staging and encompassing patients with prostate cancer. In the two cohort-type articles, the risk of recurrence was evident, with an OR of 1.13; 95% CI [1.04 to 1.22]; retrospective and multicenter studies showed evidence of recurrence, with an OR of 1.62; CI 95% [1.51 to 1.72]. Conclusion: The cases presented indicated that the D'Amico classification allows to predict recurrence of prostate cancer in prostatectomized patients, it was also evidenced that said classification allows staging and encompassing patients with prostate cancer into three risk groups. However, the record in the literature does not specify an association between smoking with recurrence of prostate cancer
