Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in 148 patients. The variables to be studied: Chronic smoker, initial symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. The collected data will be exported in the statistical package IBM SPSS Statistics 26 for its respective processing. To determine the association between the variables, the Pearson Chi Square statistical test was used with a significance level of 5% (p-value ≤ 0, 05). Results: Of the 22.3% of chronic smoking patients, 19.6% had initial symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and of 77.7% of chronic non smoking patients, 18.2% had initial symptoms of Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's. The Chi Square statistical test confirms that there are sufficient reasons to affirm that being a chronic smoker is associated with the initial symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, an ORP 23.6 with a 95% CI, as the confidence interval of the ORP does not include 1, being a chronic smoker is said to be a factor associated with initial symptoms of Alzheimer's disease Conclusions: There is an association between chronic smoking and the appearance of initial symptoms in adults with Alzheimer's disease
