Abstract: Objetivo: Determinar la asociación entre la obesidad y el desarrollo de asma
en niños
Métodos: Se realizó una revisión sistemática y metaanálisis, la búsqueda de
la literatura se efectuó en 4 bases de datos Web of Science, PubMed,
Embase y Scopus, donde se identificaron 2082 registros que ulteriormente
pasaron a tamizaje y se obtuvieron 13 artículos seleccionados e incluidos en
la revisión sistemática. Los desenlaces principales fueron medidos a través
de un OR con un IC 95%.
Resultados: El desenlace principal obesidad asociada a asma, el resultado
de nuestro metaanálisis fue obesidad es factor de riesgo para el desarrollo
de asma con un OR: 1.36; IC 95% [1.18, 1.57], P<0.01.
Conclusión: La obesidad es un factor de riesgo para el desarrollo de asma
en niños mayores de 5 años.
