The main objective of this research work was to develop a tactical urban planning proposal to promote sustainable mobility, through cycling and walking, at the intersection of Av. El Sol and Av. Guardia Civil Sur, Chorrillos – Lima, Peru. To this end, traffic and road geometric data were collected from the study area, with which cyclist lanes were designed with the expansion of sidewalks, safe pedestrian crossings, road signs and green areas. With the HCM 2010 methodology, it was demonstrated that said proposal, despite reducing the lane width on the roads from 3.76 m to 3.60 m, with the implementation of a bicycle lane along with improvements in pedestrian paths; It will not negatively impact current traffic, both on the main road of Av. El Sol and at the traffic light intersection between Av. El Sol and Av. Guardia Civil Sur. The results obtained from a survey of the population show broad support from the community, 68% between agree and completely agree, towards the proposed sustainable mobility measures, with striking colors and cultural figures such as “El Colibri” of the Nazca lines, which indicates a general acceptance of these initiatives, demonstrating that the use of bicycles and walking as sustainable means of transportation can be promoted with these proposals.
