The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and adherence to antiretroviral treatment (ART) in patients with HIV/AIDS treated at the Cesar Garayar García Hospital, Iquitos, 2022. The study was quantitative, non-experimental, and correlational. The study population made up of 50 patients with a Diagnosis of HIV/AIDS of both sexes, over 18 years of age. The interview was used as a technique, and the instruments were: a knowledge questionnaire on HIV/AIDS treatment with a validity of 90.0% and a reliability of 88.0%, and the antiretroviral treatment adherence questionnaire (CEAT - HIV) for use in Peru with a validity of 0.839 and a reliability of 0.706. The results obtained were: that in the knowledge about ART, that 72% reached regular knowledge, 16% deficient knowledge and 12% good knowledge. In adherence to ART, 56% presented regular adherence, 24% minimal adherence, and 20% strict adherence. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and adherence to ART; the statistical contrast was (Spearman's Rho p=0.027 and strength of the positive correlation with R=0.612).
