The main objective of this research was to reduce diamond drilling costs by implementing Kraken bits in a Pataz mining project. The investigation had a non-experimental-transversal design, working with a sample obtained from 2 drilling corresponding to the diamond drilling works that the Redrilsa mining contract, among which 4 drill bits were selected. of the Fordia - Kraken brand and 4 drill bits of the Coretech - Formula brand to be evaluated, due to the fact that when carrying out an evaluation of the linear advance of the Formula drill bit, the problem of high drilling costs was found. The parameters that were taken into account were the characteristics of the bit and the hardness of the terrain. Likewise, the results reflect the reduction in diamond drilling costs through the implementation of Kraken drill bits in a Pataz mining project, obtaining lower drilling rates, which is beneficial for the company. It is concluded that, when using Kraken bits, diamond drilling costs were reduced by 1.86 US $/m in the HQ line and 2.91 US $/m in the NQ line, compared to the costs obtained with the Formula bit.
