The present research was based on the problem: Do articles 424° and 483° of the Civil Code require a modification, since they present an antinomy regarding the subsistence of the maintenance obligation in persons over 18 years of age who successfully pursue studies or a profession? And the objective was: To determine whether articles 424° and 483° of the Civil Code present an antinomy and a legal vacuum and this justifies a modification of the same with regard to the subsistence of the maintenance obligation in those over 18 years of age who successfully pursue studies or a profession. The technique used was the survey and the instrument was the questionnaire. The population consisted of 45 trial lawyers of the Province of Maynas, the sample consisted of 40 trial lawyers. The design used in this research is the "non-experimental transactional or transversal type of correlational level". Descriptive statistics were used for the statistical analysis, for the study of the variables independently and for the demonstration of the hypotheses the parametric chi-square test (x2) was used. The results indicated that: articles 424° and 483° of the Civil Code present an antinomy and a legal vacuum and therefore require a modification of the same with regard to the subsistence of the maintenance obligation in those over 18 years of age who successfully pursue studies or a profession, and it should be clearly established until when it should be considered the successful pursuit of studies in a profession or trade.
