This work presents an integrated implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques with inventory management in a SME company that is dedicated to the commercialization and elaboration of marble and granite pieces, with the aim of reducing excess inventory and scrap of marble and granite that are generated throughout the production process. This is a common problem in this sector, and is caused by the lack of supply planning, the poor inventory and warehouse process, as well as the inadequate handling of materials. There is previous research of the excess waste problem and the high level of inventory. However it was studied by separate, that´s why the contribution of this research is to address both problems in this understudied sector. For this, a model is proposed integrating the tools of Lean Manufacturing: 5's and Kaizen Standardization with those of Planning and Inventory Management. t should be noted that this study is based on the research carried out by the author: "Integrated Lean Manufacturing Model with Inventory Management to Reduce Inventory and Scrap Generated in the Construction Finishing Sector" (Sanabria et.al., 2021). The model is validated through a pilot, from which it was possible to reduce inventory and scrap by 10%. Additionally, the inventory turnover increased from 0.67 to 0.75, the reuse rate of marble and granite slabs increased from 51.44% to 60.70% and inventory accuracy rate improved from 93.50% to 95%. .
