The Chili River basin supplies water resources for different purposes; this basin is regulated by four reservoirs, Aguada Blanca being the main one. On the other hand, it also has a diversion from the upper Colca river basin, which has three reservoirs and two catchments, which provides a flow channeled through the Zamacola Canal to the Sumbay river. The Chili regulated system is made up of all the hydraulic structures in the Chili river basin and the upper Colca river basin. However, these reservoir and catchment structures altered the natural discharges of the basins that make up the regulated system; due to storage, catchment, conduction, operation, etc. For this reason, it is necessary to determine the series of flows recorded at different stations and/or measured under natural conditions. The aim of this study was to determine the water availability for the generation of hydroelectric power for the Charcani VII project; therefore, the "naturalization" process was applied, using the water balance methodology. For this purpose, the control points were described with information on flows discharged by the hydraulic works involved in the regulated Chili system in the Chili river basins and the upper Colca basin. Basic information available from meteorological stations was compiled; subsequently, the main controlled variables were analyzed, such as precipitation and evaporation over the area of the reservoirs and catchments, the levels and volumes stored in the reservoirs and the flows discharged from each of them, which are the variables involved in the water balance equation. Finally, the results of this report present the values of the naturalized flows of the basins that make up the Chili regulated system, the water balance with the naturalized flow at the catchment point of the CH Charcani VII project and the water availability at that point.
