The objective of the present research was to model the lactation curve with nonlinear models (MNL) and mixed nonlinear models (MMNL), in the period 2007-2013 at the Granados herd, to determine the best fit curve and to be Useful in the practical applications of evaluation of milk production in different numbers of calving. We analyzed 22,173 test fortnightly dairy milk (Kg) data corresponding to the first, second and third more deliveries, with 1,302 lactations and 668 Holstein cows. Four MNL and four MMNL were evaluated based on the Brody, Wood, Cobby and Wilmink models. Using NLMIXED from SAS V9.4; including in MNL fixed effects and MMNL with random effects. Then the best fit model was selected; under the Akaike (AIC) and Bayesian (BIC) information criteria. MMNL had a better fit for the lactation curve at 305 days. Wood's model was the best fit for the first calving and the Wilmink model for second and third calving. The peak and days to peak were also determined, productive potential in thirds of lactation and production at 305 days in the different numbers of calving.
