Our knowledge is summarized in the search for the efficiency of water use, we describe the response of the potato crop (Solanum spp) victory variety in Riobamba-Ecuador, with the objective of assessing the usefulness and applicability of the techniques and strategies of "partial irrigation with different levels of moisture in the soil ", by means of irrigation located in the modality of two hoses per furrow spine, which were enumerated, allowing watering to be provided only with the odd and then with the pairs, for which three treatments were established. 25, 50 and 75% depletion between field capacity levels and permanent wilting point. Using the Scheffé test, with a randomized complete block design with three repetitions. The water needs were determined from the crop coefficient curve (Kc), by establishing a drainage lysimeter by treatment and a portable meteorological station, in addition to the daily record of soil moisture. The humidity behavior was 12.25%, 10.5% and 8.75% for treatment 1, 2 and 3 respectively. The Kc for each physiological stage, from the evapotranspiration of the "Etc" and "Eto" crops were for the initial stages 0.35, 0.36, 0.41; for stage of development 0.76, 0.80, 0.87; for intermediate stage 0.95, 0.98, 1.02; for the final stage 0.58, 0.59, 0.63 for treatment 1, 2 and 3 respectively. The consumption was 4886 m3/ha with 132 days of culture cycle for treatment 1; of 4552.8 m3/ha with 126 days for treatment 2, of 4284.3 m3/ha with 121 days for treatment 3. The maximum permissible humidity level for the variety under study is up to 50%, since higher levels would generate big losses.
