Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the practices of the primary caregivers of children aged 6 to 23 months, on the supplementation with polymaltosed iron at the Amakella Health Center, January-December 2020. Materials and Methods: Quantitative approach , non-experimental design, descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional. The sample corresponds to 93 primary caregivers of children aged 6 to 23 months, beneficiaries of polymaltose iron supplementation and with access to an active contact number. For data collection, a questionnaire and a Likert scale were used that were validated by the researchers through an expert judgment and a pilot test, having Cronbach 0.808 and Kuder Richardson 0.775 as alpha reliability. Results: It was observed that the average age of the primary caregivers of children from 6 to 23 months was 30.6 years, 44.1% had a secondary level of education, 57% had cohabitants and 74.2% did not have a occupation; Regarding the level of knowledge, it was a regular level with 82.7%, poor with 7.5% and good 9.7%. In practice, an adequate level was obtained with 90.3% and an inadequate level with 9.7%. Regarding the correlation, a direct relationship between the variables was evidenced. Conclusion: More than half of the primary caregivers presented a regular level of knowledge. The practices were adequate in a higher percentage and it was found that there is a correlation between the variables.
