The diameter structure and the carbon stored in the commercial species of a lowhill forest of the district of Indiana/Las Amazonas, Loreto, Peru were evaluated. The data from the forest census of the commercial species of the operational plan (PO) 2 of the cutting plot (PC) 3 of the forest concession contract for timber purposes was evaluated. The results indicate that the distribution of the number of trees per diameter class is 3,258 trees/ha out of a total of 6191 trees. Otoba sp. (0,456 trees/ha, 866 trees) registers the highest number of trees; while P. grandifoliun (0,051 trees/ha, 97 trees) reports the lowest number of trees. The diameter class from 60 cm to 69 cm contains the highest number of trees (0,971 trees/ha, 1844 trees) and the diameter class from 140 cm to 149 cm (0,008 trees/ha, 16 trees) contains the lowest number of trees. The carbon stored amounts to 49,76 tC/ha and 94 604,48 tC. E. coriacea reports the highest amount of carbon stored (5,58 tC/ha, 10 597,32 tC) and Tachigali sp. (0,90 tC/ha and 1718,81 tC) shows the lowest value of carbon stored. The diameter class of 60 cm to 69 cm (10,267 tC/ha and 19 507,511 tC) reports the highest amount of stored carbon; while the diameter class from 130 cm to 139 cm (1,692 tC/ha and 3 214,209 tC) reports the lowest value of stored carbon.
