The research was carried out with the objective of Diagnosing the current situation of basic sanitation (Drainage) existing in the human settlements of San Valentín, September 21 and Poblapil, jurisdiction of the district of Punchana, province of Maynas, Loreto region. The research design is non-parametric, not experimental, using the evaluative - explanatory method, since a given situation was studied without introducing any element that varied the behavior of the variables under study. The sample consisted of 30 houses per human settlement, applying the system of surveys for the collection of information. The results show that 69% of the population has an open-air drain, that is, they are not connected to the local network. 48% of the three human settlements drain their liquid waste in septic tanks, 21% have open drains and 31% do not show how they handle their liquid waste. 100% of respondents know what problem causes this deficit, however, there are families that do not implement any action in their home to solve this problem. 59% of the people evaluated have a drinking water system, compared to 41% they do not have; being the AA. HH. September 21 which owns 26%, compared to the AA. HH. Poblapil that 33% do not have drinking water. It is necessary to manage the basic sanitation project for these human settlements before the local competent authority.
