The research was carried out to evaluate the socioeconomic and environmental impact of the project to strengthen productive and organizational capacities of the producers of the Zea mays "yellow corn", from the communities of Gallito (Amazon River) and Salvador (Napo River), in the Loreto region. The research was exploratory, descriptive and qualitative. Important characteristics of technology transfer within production systems were analyzed. The population sample consists of 69 beneficiaries of the project. Information was collected, which consisted of planting forms, land preparation, input use, harvest forms, product transformation, among others. The result of the evaluations carried out allows us to conclude that, despite the efforts to establish INIA technology in the communities under study, we can mention that the knowledge acquired about the crop (proposed technology), did not have the necessary interest on the part of the beneficiaries, since traditional practices were not corrected, to improve their production. They argue that they lack the support of other institutions so that technology can be adopted. There is no knowledge of fertilizers, pest control, among others. They also do not keep production records and other technical aspects to achieve optimum crop yield and better product marketing. They consider that the necessary coverage of the technical assistance service was lacking, to meet the beneficiaries and therefore achieve better crop production and productivity.
