The present innovative project called "Strengthening the reading competence of the students of the Propaedeutic level", is developed in the Pachacútec Foundation, with the objective of strengthening the reading competence of the students of the Propaedeutic level, through the management and application of active methodological strategies for the development of text comprehension. This project is based on the theoretical framework related to the development of reading competence, the importance of reading and levels of comprehension of texts. The theoretical contributions were taken from Isabel Solé (2009) and Daniel Cassany (2001). Likewise, the prioritized solution alternative "Developing a comprehensive reading module to improve reading comprehension skills in the three levels: literal, inferential and critical" is based on a formative approach oriented towards the development of reading skills in students of the mentioned level. In conclusion, the application of this innovative project will allow to strengthen the reading comprehension capacity of students through the implementation of training workshops with teachers, the preparation of a work module and the realization of focus groups with students focused in the management of active strategies for the comprehension of texts.
