The general objective of this research is to determine the socio-environmental impact generated by the solid waste dump located on the road to the Yantaló district, for which the general characteristics of the dump and waste management were identified; the physical composition of solid waste, the perception of the population regarding the social impact generated by the dump and the environmental impact. In this sense, a probabilistic sample of 36 people was considered to whom a survey was applied to evaluate the perception regarding the dump. Likewise, field work was carried out to identify the environmental impacts, the valuation of which was carried out using the Environmental Impact Matrix according to the Conesa methodology. Regarding the results, daily 66.97 tons of solid waste enter the dump, of which 52.6 tons correspond to household waste, 6.12 tons of commercial waste, 7.08 tons to waste generated in the markets and 1.17 tons from street sweeping. Likewise, 92% of the residents did not feel protected from the pollution produced by the dump and 89% mentioned that the gases released from the dump and the fetid odors, especially in summer, affect their quality of life. Finally, the vectors or pests and bad odors produce a Severe impact, the generation of gases a Moderate impact, the generation of leachate with a Severe impact, the generation of waste with a Moderate impact and loss of plant cover with a Severe impact.
