The present research aimed to determine the relationship between family functionality and aggressiveness in high school students from a Public Institution in the city of Cajamarca. The sample consisted of 80 students aged between 12 to 19 years, from first to fifth year of secondary school. The methodology used was a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and correlational scope. The instruments used were the Family Cohesion and Adaptability Scale (FACES III) and the Buss and Perry (1992) Aggression Questionnaire. The results show a non-significant inverse relationship (-0.157) between family functioning and aggressiveness; in addition, a non-significant inverse relationship of the variables of cohesion (-0.222) and adaptability (-0.048) with the aggressiveness variable, accepting the null hypothesis. In addition, a higher percentage of separate level (49%) of cohesion was determined; a higher percentage at the chaotic level (48%) of adaptability; and 46% of adolescent students, in the average level of aggressiveness, being the highest percentage; and the lowest, at the very low level (3%).
