Blanca A. Vengoa, R. Nieto, J. Nieto Background: Rheumatoid arthritis is a frequent disease in our environment, and is associated with high cardiovascular morbility and mortality. The objective of the study is to determine the factors associated with cardiovascular risk and its stratification according to the Framingham scales in patients with rheumatoid arthritis at the Antonio Lorena Hospital in Cusco, 2019. Methods: An analytical, study of cases and controls was carried out in patients with rheumatoid arthritis from 20 to 75 years of age, who have developed cardiovascular disease or not, who attended the Rheumatology service of the HALC, where a validated survey was applied to a sample of 82 patients, distributed in 41 cases and 41 controls. The association evaluation of the variables under study was performed by calculating the OR, “p“ value and 95% CI through the bivariate analysis. Results: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is associated with cardiovascular risk, with values of: 5.15 and P of 0.023, 0R = 5.48, 95% CI [1.11-27.22], dyslipidemia with 8.29, P of 0.004, 0R = 5.34 , 95% CI [1.59-17.93]; the metabolic syndrome of 14.66, P of 0.000, 0R = 6.45, 95% CI [2.38-17.43]; Abdominal circumference ≥94 cm in men with 7.20, P of 0.007.0R = 16.00, IC95% [1.79-143.15]; Abdominal circumference ≥90 cm in women with 6.51, P of 0.011, OR = 3.87, 95% CI [1.34-11.17]; the depression with 4.20, P of 0.040, 0R = 2.60, 95% CI [1.03-6.54]; the disease time greater than 10 years with 17.65, P of 0.000, 0R = 7.49, 95% CI [2.81-19.96]; and the functional disability with a of 26.65, P of 0.000, 0R = 46.32, IC95% [5.50-369.65]. Furthermore, according to the stratification of Framingham 46, 3% have high risk, moderate 24.4%, and 29, 3% low. Conclusions: In the present study it was evidenced that diabetes mellitus type 2, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, abdominal circumference ≥ 94cm in male patients and ≥ 90cm in female patients, depression, duration of the disease greater than 10 years, functional commitment are factors of risk cardiovascular; and the cardiovascular risk according to Framingham is stratified as high risk in 46, 3%, moderate risk in 24.4%, and 29, 3% low risk.
