Alterations, refer to any deviation from normal occlusion, they are considered a defect in the position of one or more teeth in the arch to which it belongs or how irregular contact of the teeth of the upper jaw with the lower jaw. The present study sought to demonstrate the prevalence of orthodontic abnormalities according to the American Association of Orthodontists in children aged 06-12 years old attended at school Fernando Tupac Amaru Cusco, site in which the prevalence of genetic alterations are determined, functional, traumatic and dental order. Definitions were considered important alterations etiology, predisposing factors, local factors and problems that cause disturbances. Quantitative study, no experimental, observational regarding 303 students included in the study of school Fernando Tupac Amaru cusco 2015 was conducted exploratory and descriptive. The collected data were recorded in a database and processed in a computer. The statistical processing was analyzed in SPSS version 20 and spreadsheet Microsoft Excel to give a quantitative statistical analysis in relation to sex and age taking into account that the study was conducted in children and girls aged 6 to 12 years . This work was based on the Latin American index called orthodontists (AIO), with which a new instrument validated by expert opinion developed.
