The present work of investigation was developed in the city of Trujillo, populated center El Milagro, having as main objective to determine and to evaluate the seismic performance with friction dissipaters in low buildings before a severe earthquake, to fulfill the objective in the first place two low structures were identified with which the original structural modeling of the two buildings was made, then the seismic structural analysis was determined (static, dynamic and modal) according to our Peruvian norm E.0..30-2018, in which a non-linear time history analysis was also made to obtain the design earthquake in which the buildings could be evaluated before a severe earthquake by which the friction dissipater was designed for both buildings according to the characteristic of their structure and architecture and finally by means of the non-linear time history analysis with friction dissipaters the seismic performance before a severe earthquake was determined.The importance of the present investigation gives us the possibility of establishing low structures with friction dissipaters that can support different seismic levels but the most important one before a severe earthquake of great magnitude, knowing that the city of Trujillo is located in seismic zone, helping in this way with the objective of taking care of the life of the people and diminishing the economic losses products of the losses of infrastructures. Among the most important results that were obtained were the drifts in mezzanine of both buildings meet the minimum drift that is 0.007 m that gives us the earthquake standard E.030-2018, between the analysis of both structures was obtained the maximum drift of mezzanine that is 0.0065 m between both axes, so we can say that the seismic performance of the structures with friction dissipaters is optimal to a severe earthquake. Among the most important conclusions is the percentage of seismic reduction of the two structures with and without friction dissipaters obtaining a maximum of 92.09% of maximum reduction between the two structures and we can also say that friction dissipaters are more efficient than other types of dissipaters.
