ABSTRACT The purpose of this research study was to identify the relationship between the variables Family Satisfaction and Suicidal Ideation in secondary school students of an Educational Institution, District of Olives. Non-experimental design research, correlational descriptive type. Two structured questionnaires were used: Beck's Suicidal Ideation Scale (adapted by Bobadilla and Others in 2004) and the Olson and Wilson Family Satisfaction Scale (adapted by Bueno in 1996), the sample consisted of 150 students belonging to the third grade until the fifth grade of the secondary level of educational institution. The instruments were validated through expert judgment and complied with the qualities of validity and reliability. The results reported the existence of a moderate negative correlation between suicidal ideation and family satisfaction (Rho de Spearman -, 562), that is, while one variable increases the other decreases relatively. It was found that 42.0% of the students perceived in a high and medium level in family satisfaction. Similarly, its dimensions as cohesion and adaptability ranks remained at high and medium levels. Regarding suicidal ideation, it was found that 64.0% showed a low level, a 23.3% average level. That same level was obtained by the four dimensions of said variable.
