The present research work, aims to evaluate the degree of maturity of capacities in Project management, applying the maturity model that best suits a private university in the cityof Lima-2020. As a centre of higher and private education, a private university is financed by the education pensions and donations of other private organizations. Despite not receiving financial support from the state, they must adhere to the quality standards required by the Ministry of Education and SUNEDU, and to meet the basic conditions, social projection and extension, they must invest in many infrastructure projects, equipment, laboratories, student services, among others. For this reason, a private university is no stranger to the world of project management, which each year increases its budgets and investments. To achieve the objectives of this research work, whose model is quantitative and descriptive style, I will use an information collection tool that will be applied to 12 collaborators of a private university, which are involved and related to project management. Once the research technique has been applied, data will be collected and analysed to determine and assess the maturity level of theorganisation. My contribution with this research work, will be to provide opportunities for continuous improvement in all components of the organization’s project management system, which obtained a valuation below the minimum, thus making the projects implemented more successful.
