The present thesis project describes the automated operation of a pressure control to a screw type industrial compressor already manufactured in 1987, with techniques to save energy in that company, improving the power factor. New alarm and warning indicators were added to the system that improve the operation of the machine and incorporate a web application for the operator to interact with the operation of the compressor. Firstly, a conceptual revision of control theories applicable to industrial machines that currently exist was made, so as to be able to make a decision on the design of the pressure controller. The contributions in this thesis project, is given in mathematical modeling based on experimental methods to an automated industrial compressor that houses components such as a three-phase speed variator, a three- phase asynchronous squirrel-cage motor, a screw lobe system (compressor) , and a pressure transmitter. In the technical part, it is demonstrated how a closed loop pressure control system can be implemented in industrial screw type compressors that operate at nominal frequencies of 50 to 60 Hz of the electrical network, finally optimal pressure values were found to make a control automatic pressure, so that the company can use the compressor at the right time.
