The present study was carried out in Peru, department of Cajamarca, province of Cajamarca, district of La Encañada. It aims to locate areas of hydrothermal alteration by mineral perception using remote sensing with ASTER images of the Encañada district, Cajamarca 2019. A non-experimental, transversal, causal method was used. Having as a sample population the spectral signatures of the minerals of the ASTER images of the department of Cajamarca and work will be done as shows the spectral signatures of the minerals of the aster image of the Encañada district. The recognition of hydrothermal alteration was carried out through the application of spectral techniques such as the SAM (Spectral Angle Mapper) method, which required special processing, since it compares spectral signatures of the scene contained in the ASTER images of the study area with the signatures spectral of the USGS spectral library and the MNF method in such a way that it allowed to corroborate the scanning targets detected with the previous methods and refine the hydrothermal alteration halos based on the mineralogical assembly typical of each mineral deposit. In the investigation, alterations of the advanced Argillic and Argillic type were determined, thus determining, 2 areas of prospective interest along the study area.
