The objective of this thesis is to apply the Lean Manufacturing methodology in the maintenance process to improve the availability of drills of the company MBC Drilling S.A.C. Hill of Pasco. According to its purpose, the research is applied, quantitative by the nature of its data and pre-experimental according to the control of the research, it was developed with help tools such as: unstructured questionnaire, observation guide and summary sheet; and the necessary and useful information was collected to be able to measure the indicators to see the effect on improving the availability of drills in the maintenance process. According to the results obtained, the influence of the application of the Lean Manufacturing Methodology was 42%, the availability of the drills before its application was on average 77.92%, then the methodology was applied in four stages of Lean implementation: analysis root cause, the logical failure tree tool, the value stream map then obtained an improvement with availability of 84.52% on average (2019) for the same analysis period (between May to October), the value stream in Uptime was 1260 minutes for 2018 (before), and 1005 minutes for 2019 (after). The application of the Lean Manufacturing Methodology reduced the number of events from 242 with 894.96 hours (2018) to 130 with 642.18 hours (2019) and generated an economic benefit with cost reduction of $ 13,636.67 as savings in the cost of stops.
