The objective of this thesis work is to carry out hydrological modeling and the twodimensional hydraulic modeling of the Marañón river for the pre-dimensioning of the Tingo Chico bridge. The study area is located in the nascent of the Marañón river in the proximities of the Tingo Chico populated center in Dos de Mayo province in Huánuco department. The hydrology phase consisted in analyzing and processing the 24-hour maximum rainfall information and the annual maximum flow rates, selecting the return period based on the useful life and the level of risk with respect to the bridge in question, and perform the modeling in HEC-HMS. The hydraulics phase consisted of carrying out the preprocessing of the HEC-RAS 2D and IBER models and the numerical modeling of the flow in two dimensions, in addition to estimating general and localized undercutting depths It is observed that the behavior of the simulated flow for both models shows great similarity in the flow profile as in the hydraulic parameters. Upstream of the bridge predominate the subcritical regime, where the highest tirantes and the lowest velocities are presented. In the bridge section, the flow transits in a subcritical regime with moderate velocities. Downstream of the bridge, the highest velocities and the lowest tirantes are presented in the zone where the regime is supercritical. It is concluded that, for this case, the HEC-RAS 2D and IBER models provide trustworthy results, one of the limitations of HEC-RAS 2D is that it does not have bridge modeling capabilities within a 2D flow area, however, the results similarity is because the projected bridge respects the natural width of the channel
