This research determines the alteration of the Air Quality produced by the activities of sugarcane burning in the fields located around the Casa Grande district and its annexed populated centers. For this purpose were used the results of PM10, PM2,5, CO and SO2 corresponding to a 15-day monitoring from November 8 to 22 of 2018 at three strategically located points, using high and low volumen article samplers. The results obtained showed that, although the concentrations of particulate matter and gas did not exceed the national regulations, the guideline values established by the WHO were exceded both for PM10, PM2,5, and SO2. In addition, by analyzing the local behavior of the meteorological variables, it was identified that the wind speed and temperature have a significant influence on the concentration and distribution of pollutants. On the other hand, from the calculations made by the AQI and INCA, a Good and a Moderate air quality index was obtained for all monitoring points for particulate matter. In the case of the polluting gases, a Good air quality was obtained in every day of the monitoring according to the CO, and with SO2, the result stood out for obtaining a moderate air Quality index under the calculations made by the AQI. Finally, the green harvest was considered as the main solution alternative in order to reduce the impacts generated by the sugarcane burning, followed by economic incentives and Environmental rates, as well as an improvement in the Environmental Management Plans of the sugarmills, aiming the implementation of appropriate and efficient technologies to reduce or avoid harvesting by burning and emissions during the production process.
