The purpose of the following research paper has been to gather information and recommend ways to improve the management of hazardous solid waste, wastewater and atmospheric emissions, which are generated by the Laboratory of Soils, Plant and Fertilizers Analysis (LASPAF). The laboratory is part of the Faculty of Agronomy of the National Agrarian University - La Molina (UNALM). The analytical methods used by the laboratory were revised, alongside; unstructured interviews were carried out with the workers in order to detect possible points of mismanagement and contamination. Once these were identified, samples were taken from the sub products generated by the LASPAF (solid waste, wastewater and emission). The parameters analyzed for each sample were determined by the current Peruvian regulations in force. The results show an inadequate management of hazardous substances in many of the sampled points, the ones of major concern come from: (1) the determination of organic mater in soil by Walkley and Black method, (2) determination of nitrogen by Kjeldahl method, (3) determination of solid texture by Bouyoucos method and (4) the acid digestion for samples which then are analyzed for heavy metals, micro and macro nutrients. The first of these methods was identified as a critical point due to the discharge of potassium dichromate, sulfates and ammoniacal nitrogen in the sewage and the generation of hazardous solid waste due to the accumulation of chromium. The second, due to the discharge of boric acid and copper sulfate in the sewage. The third, due to the discharge of very high levels of total suspended solids and sedimentable solids in the sewage. The forth, due to the emissions of acid vapor and nitrogen dioxide. A series of proposals has been made to improve each of these critical points as well as general management improvements for the LASPAF.
