In recent years the socio-environmental conflicts by extractive activities such as mining have increased substantially in the department of Cajamarca this has caused serious problems for the expansion and implementation of new projects, the same companies recognize that a mining project inevitably affects the environment , so that the presence of the subject in conflicts seems logical, especially when you consider how important the environmental movement has gained over the past 20 years around the world and across all social strata. The research objective is to analyze the factors of conflict Tantahuatay mining project that is located in the upper reaches of the rivers Llaucano and Chancay- Lambayeque, on the continental divide between the Pacific and Atlantic sides respectively, best known as the head basin where the National Environment Fund in 2005 showed the existence of environmental liabilities 1286. The sampling method for data collection was casual type, corresponding to probability sampling methods, since it is the most used at the time of the survey and is based on interviews with people at random. At present the mining project Tantahuatay is undergoing socio environmental conflict Hualgayoc districts, Chugur due to the expansion work to be performed. During the analysis it was determined that four factors have a determining influence that remains latent socio-environmental conflict: (1) Economic Ecological Zoning Cajamarca, (2) location header Basin project, (3) social conflicts environmental project are around Tantahuatay, (4) anti-mining position of local governments.
