The present thesis that proposes a “Commuter Train”, seeks to develop at the level of the surface the 2nd railway line with a length of 53.00 km, for the massive transport of passengers, supported by the existing railway infrastructure of the center railway, in order to intercommunicate, through this double track, the peripheral cities of the capital of Lima (East – West) from Chosica to Callao in a fast, safe and efficient way; the same that will serve as “Feeder and Integrator” of the main urban transport lines of Metropolitan Lima that actually exist and future ones. This proposal is promoted inside the framework of the policies and strategies described in the National Plan of Railway Development published by the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) in the Ministerial Resolution 396-2016 MTC/01.02 on June 9 of 2016; which guides and promotes the development of passenger rail services in the metropolitan area of Lima and principal cities in order to respond to the problems of road congestion and environmental damage.
