The problem of wait times is quiet and unfortunately this problem in the country is not rising, and already has time hurting a good number of users in all regions of the country (Reyna, 2012). For this reason we consider an analysis and evaluation of a simulation system in the area of outpatient Regional Hospital of Cajamarca using queuing theory to identify to what extent the use of simulation helps reduce waiting times. For the development of research previously conducted a diagnosis to identify the main reason for the long lines are generated. Using a simulation system using queuing theory, it is considered as the best alternative to understand, analyze and improve the system under study, ie, allowed to show two scenarios; in the first, the reality of patient flow during the shift of attention in order to find the causes that cause. From this, in the second scenario, the resources to find the best solution to alleviate the problem will be analyzed; using as main simulation tools to Microsoft Excel and Promodel. The analysis is based on taking time from direct observation, further surveys to caregivers and patients who come to the area of outpatient clinics were conducted to determine the degree of satisfaction before and after the proposed improvement. Likewise, it was possible to make a correlation analysis to see whether what extent the simulation system influences reducing waiting times. The improvement results have been be feasible and viable since it sought to maximize resources and managed to increase by 94% the efficiency of service Regarding the cost-benefit analysis we obtained that for every invested sun a profit of 1.25 is obtained soles, reaffirming again that this thesis is feasible both technically and economically. It is recommended that future research will analyze the system and consider implementing proposals to make medical records easier
