Roads represent one of the main development axis in Peru. Unfortunately, according to SINAC there is 85% of unpaved roads, which mostly have geometrical deficiencies. The Chancos - Vicos - Wiash road, 9,796 km length, is located in Ancash department, Carhuaz province district of Marcará. The main economic activities of people from these road communities are: agriculture, livestock, mining and tourism. Which are affected by the numerous traffic accidents, long hours of travel, high ticket costs. Produced by the geometrical problems of the aforementioned road. This thesis proposes as a solution to the geometric deficiencies of the Chancos - Vicos - Wiash road, an updated design based on the DG2014 manual that provides alignments and dimensions necessary to protect the safety and integrity of the users within the framework of economic viability. For the proposal, mixed methodology was applied, where field work was done to verify the current situation of the road and extract the necessary parameters for the design. The design update was modeled in the Vehicle Tracking software with the objective of checking the safe trajectory of the design vehicle within the new dimensions and alignments. In addition, an economic analysis was carried out to ensure the viability of the project. As a result of the proposal, the geometric design update was obtained with the following characteristics: minimum radius of 25m, maximum slopes of 8.00%, roadways of 6.00m width and a design speed of 40 and 30 km / h according to the sections developed. With the help of the Vehicle Tracking software, the correct circulation of 3-axle vehicles was verified in both lanes. On the other hand, vertical road sign was added to mitigate risks and accidents. Finally, the economic analysis indicates a social saving of 2 223 821.20 pen. NPSV of 3 284 192.43 and SIRR of 18%. Given these results, the objective of this thesis was met.
