Numerous investigations argue that the use of strategies self, have a positive effect on academic performance. In our half there are few studies investigation into the matter, especially in the top level, therefore this research on the relationship learns selfregulated learning and academic performance in a sample of college students, will be a theoretical framework for future research in the field of education. The research objective was to establish the relationship between self-regulated learning and academic achievement in students of Nursing and Obstetrics of the National University "Santiago Antunez de Mayolo”. We report a descriptive correlational study and a sample of 132 students of both sexes of I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII and VIII cycle of Nursing and Midwifery Studies, to which they apply the inventory Self Regulated Learning (IRCS) developed by Lindner, Harris and Gordon in 1992.Statistical analysis was the Pearson correlation coefficient. Statistical analysis of data has allowed us to reach the following conclusions: There is a positive and statistically significant relationship between level of self-regulated learning and academic achievement presented by the students of Nursing and Obstetrics, University "Santiago Antúnez de Mayolo" in Huaraz. There is a significant and positive relationship between level of self-regulated learning areas: executive cognitive control of motivation and environment, and the level of academic achievement. The predominant level in each area and the total scale of self-regulated learning in students of Nursing and Midwifery is the middle level.
