Objective. “To determine the risk factors for pulmonary tuberculosis in young adult patients of the San José de chincha hospital, September to November of the year 2019”.Material and methods. Data is collected to determine the risk factors that lead to pulmonary tuberculosis, using the instrument that is the survey selected for this research study. It is descriptive, exploratory, explanatoryResults The results indicate that when the Pearson correlation is analyzed, the existence of a 0.634 correlation is verified, the correlation is significant 0.01, which means that the dimensions presented in this research work do affect the dependent variable.Where we see that the main risk factor is the socioeconomic one with 68.3% prevailing over the others, lifestyles factor with 20% and cultural factor with 35%. Indicators: unemployment with 93.3%, means that there are more people who contracted the disease due to the issue of work, since not having economic means, there is a poor quality of life, consequently dragging the family into poverty with notorious deficiencies in both their way of life and their quality. Overcrowding with 33%, contacts with people with tuberculosis 41.7%, poor hygiene habits 13.3%, inadequate ventilation 75%, consumption of additive substances 18.3%, inadequate food and nutrition 25%, ignorance of the disease 65%. We conclude: “That socioeconomic factors are risk factors for pulmonary tuberculosis in young adults of the San José hospital”, that within the indicators of socioeconomic factor, unemployment is associated with said disease.
