The purpose of this work was to determine the relationship between knowledge and application of occupational health and safety measures in the emergency service of the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pisco in 2018, this investigation was conducted under The hypothetical method - deductive, basic type, cross-section, non-experimental design, quantitative approach, two evaluation instruments were applied to the sample consisting of 30 participants being 33.3% male and 66.7% female, the type of Sample was census, reaching the following results: 56.7% of the participants are licensed in nursing, while 43.3% are technical personnel working in the emergency service, regarding the level of application of measures of Biosafety, 30% of the sample has a medium level and 70% high level of biosafety practices, specifically regarding the level of knowledge of biosafety measures 3.3 A low level, while 10% a medium level and 86.7% have a high level of knowledge of biosecurity measures, with respect to the relationship between knowledge and the application of the measures, a coefficient is obtained. Pearson's correlation (p = 0.401) which shows that there is a degree of direct and moderate relationship between the study variables. It is also concluded that: there is a high level of knowledge of biosecurity measures with respect to universal precautions and specifically there are adequate practices in the application of biosecurity regulations of universal precautions, there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of protective barriers and the application of protective barriers in the emergency service of the San Juan de Dios hospital in Pisco and there is a medium level of knowledge of biosecurity measures regarding the contamination of hazardous waste and a direct and significant relationship with respect to the application of regulations for proper waste disposal.
