The objective of this research was to determine the level of information and practices of adolescent mothers in the care of term newborns at the II-2 MINSA Hospital in Tarapoto, July to December 2020. Methodology: non-experimental, quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional approach, the sample consisted of 76 adolescent mothers attended at the II-2 MINSA Hospital, the interview technique was used and the instrument used was a questionnaire with a Lickert scale prepared by the author: Macha Luna Yenny Luz. Results: 90.8% (69) of the adolescent mothers who participated in the study are between 17 and 19 years old, 38.2% (29) have primary education, 51.3% (39) are single, 61.8% (47) are housewives, 81.6% (62) have 1 to 3 children, and 80.3% (61) profess the Catholic religion, 56.6% (43) have a medium level of information about the feeding that their newborns should receive, followed by 28.9% (22) with a high level and 14.5% (11) with a low level of information, 72.4% (55) have a medium level of information on the care that their newborns should receive, followed by 15.8% (12) with a high level and 11.8% (9) with a low level of information, 77.6% (59) have adequate practices in the care of the newborn at term, however, 22.4% (17) have inadequate practices. In conclusion, 63.9% (39) have a medium level of information with adequate newborn care practices, followed by 46.7% (7) who have a medium level of information with inadequate practices, which shows a significant relationship between the level of information and newborn care practices according to the Chi-square test (P = 0.04).
