The following thesis entitled as "Hydraulic and Structural Design of Protection Works against Erosion and Flooding of the Balsayacu River in the Balsayacu Town Center, Campanilla District, Mariscal Caceres Province - San Martin Region", was developed in order to have a proposal of solution to the problems of erosion and flooding of the urban riparian area of the Balsayacu Settlement Center, in this way to contribute with the Municipality of Campanilla District in Profile preparation of the Riparian Defense Project, whose subsequent execution will solve the problems. As a first step, documentary research has been carried out to obtain the steps and key formulas for the design of these works. As a second step, the collection of topographic information, soil mechanics and historical events of the maximum avenues has been carried out in the field, complementing the processing in the cabinet. As a third step, the characteristics of the Balsayacu river basin, such as area, perimeter, form factor, compactness index, channel length, concentration time, and drainage density, have been determined. As a fourth step, the hydrological study of maximum avenues is performed, based on the rainfall information of the Bellilla CO station provided by the SENAMHI, with the Number Curve Method N, reaching the design flow rate. Then, the parameters of fluvial hydraulics have been determined, such as the average slope of the channel, the stable width of the channel, the roughness of the channel, maximum avenue tension, water velocity, and depth of scour. Finally, the hydraulic and structural design of breakwaters and earth dams is carried out, which includes the location in the plant and the geometrical configuration of the structures, as well as the verification of roll stability, slippage and punching, respectively. As a result, 15 short flow deflecting jetties are projected to solve the channel erosion problem and a two-section earth dam that makes a total of 846 m, outside the channel, parallel to and adjacent to the right bank of the Balsayacu River. to solve the flood problem.
