The objective of the study was "To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practices of biosafety measures, in Nurses (Hospitals) of Tarapoto II - 2 Hospital, from July – December 2017.", Non - experimental, quantitative, descriptive, cross - sectional study, relational, the population was 60 nurses of Tarapoto II – 2 Hospital. The technique was the interview and the instruments questionnaire and checklist. The results, the nursing staffs of the Tarapoto II - 2 Hospital have a good level of knowledge in terms of basic aspects and preventive measures or universal precautions; on cleaning and disinfection of materials, handling and elimination of waste and on occupational exposure. Regarding the practice, it was demonstrated that it has efficient practices in terms of cleaning and disinfection of equipment, handling and elimination of waste and occupational exposure. In conclusion, there is a statistically significant relationship between the knowledge level variable and the biosafety practices adopted by the nursing staff of Tarapoto II - 2 Hospital, X2 = 13.539 with a value of p = 0.009.
