Objective: To determine the epidemiology and clinical picture of urinary tract infections in pregnant women hospitalized in the Hospital II-2 Tarapoto in the period August 2016 - July 2017, through the review of Clinical Histories. Methodology: A quantitative, descriptive, observational, cross-sectional, retrospective study. Taking as a sample a population of 94 pregnant women with a diagnosis of urinary tract infection who were hospitalized. The data collection was done through a data collection card. Results: Of the 94 pregnant women in the study; 59.6% are between 18 and 35 years of age; 71.3% live together; 57.4% have a high school education level; dedicating 78.7% to being a housewife; Regarding the obstetric characteristics, 51.1% were multi-gestational; 69.1% were in the third trimester of pregnancy; 55.3% with less than 6 prenatal controls, uroculture was performed in 22.3% of patients, of which 52.4% tested positive for Escherichia coli. Urinary discomfort (dysuria, frequency and vesical urgency) occurred in 75.5% followed by back pain in 50%. Conclusions: Urinary tract infections in pregnant women are more frequent between 18 and 35 years old, cohabiting, with secondary and housewives. The predominant symptoms were urinary discomfort and low back pain, which occurred mostly in the multigesta during the third trimester of pregnancy, who attended less than 6 prenatal check-ups; about the etiological agent, the most frequent was Escherichia coli.
