This research study entitled "Relationship between Level of Self-Esteem and Academic Performance in Family Violence High School Students EI No. 0031 Maria Ulises Davila Pinedo. Morales. OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2011. The research was descriptive - correlational, for which we obtained a sample of 135 students who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and also attended the day he was scheduled to survey. To obtain the data was used as an instrument of self-directed survey which collected information on self-esteem variables and the presence of family violence, which was used for the first Test of Rosenberg, and the second a survey with 07 items, where questions were aimed at identifying the presence or absence of family violence and in terms of academic achievement variable was used as an indicator a weighted average of the first two quarters of each student. For statistical analysis of data was performed using SPSS version 17. And also it was the independence of the variables significantly with chi-square test, read the 95% confidence intervals. Finally we arrived at the following conclusions: With regard to self-esteem is concluded that most students (64.5%) did not reach an optimal level of self-esteem. For the 50.4% of these self-esteem has a Media, and 14.1% of students have low self-esteem, which means that 100% only 35.6% have high self-esteem. With regard to academic achievement is concluded that most students (91.1%) did not reach optimum performance level. Of these students 30.4% are middle level, the notes of the first and second quarters are between 13 - 14, averaging somewhat considered as good. It is shown that domestic violence is present in most of the students of 1st and 2nd secondary EI No. 0031 Maria Ulises Davila Pinedo, with a percentage of 63% of the population studied. It also showed that the correlation between the variables self-esteem and academic performance medium with variable violence.
