The parturients in whom the vaginal and conjunctival secretion of their respective neonates were studied were studied in a descriptive and prospective way, in order to determine the prevalence, causal agents, complications presented and finally to suggest behavioral patterns for prevention in the Hospital II Integrated Tarapoto. The study cases were selected according to certain criteria used, describing the demographic characteristics, finding that the group of pregnant women was concentrated between 20 and 34 years of age with a predominance of secondary education, constituted by a homogeneous population in terms of parity. The prevalence rate was 323, the most frequent being legas 128 followed by conjunctival inflammation 10 percent, eyelid edema 6 percent, and purulent exudate 4 percent. The most frequently found agent in both vaginal secretion and conjunctival secretion were coccobacilli 43% followed by yeast type 38%, monilias 6% and staphylococci 5%.
