The work presented below aims to publicize a binary programming model for passenger land transportation at the National University of Cajamarca to optimize travel scheduling on route 1, minimizing the idle capacity offered. The research was carried out with information obtained through direct observation and data recording; later analyzed and processed in order to design a binary programming model to minimize the idle capacity offered and thus optimize travel scheduling on route 1 with the help of the Lindo 6.1 software. In this way, the model was able to minimize idle capacity with the new travel scheduling and significantly impact on the costs incurred.
