Abstract: La presente investigación cuantitativa fue correlacional de corte transversal y tuvo
como objetivo determinar la relación entre las dimensiones de la socialización
parental y la empatía en adolescentes de nivel secundario del distrito de Trujillo.
Para ello se contó con una muestra de 302 alumnos del 4to y 5to año de nivel
secundario, varones y mujeres, con una edad promedio entre los 14 y 17 años. Los
instrumentos utilizados son el Escala de Socialización Parental para Adolescentes
de Musito y García, y el Índice de Reactividad Interpersonal de Davis. Se concluye
que existe relación entre socialización parental y la empatía en adolescentes; así
mismo, existe correlación entre algunas dimensiones de la socialización, como son:
Aceptación/Implicación y Coerción Imposición, y las dimensiones de la empatía.
Además, la escala de la socialización parental, tanto en padre como en madre, que
más predomina es la Aceptación/Implicación y la dimensión de empatía que más
predomina es la toma de perspectiva. Por último, se halló que la madre tiene más
influencia en la formación de la empatía de los adolescentes.
The present quantitative research was cross-sectional correlational and aimed to determine the relationship between parental socialization and empathy in adolescents at secondary level in the district of Trujillo. For this, there was a sample of 302 4th and 5th year high school students, boys and girls, with an average age between 14 and 17 years old. The instruments used are the Parental Socialization Scale for Adolescents of Musito and García, and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index of Davis. It is concluded that there is a relationship between parental socialization and empathy in adolescents; likewise, there is a correlation between some scales of socialization, such as: Acceptance / Implication and Coercion Imposition, and the dimensions of empathy. In addition, the scale of parental socialization, both in father and mother, which predominates is Acceptance / Involvement and the dimension of empathy that predominates most is the taking of perspective.
