The objective of this proposal of improve is to enhance the stock or inventory management of the fleet maintenance area of a glass and aluminum distribution company, through the use of an inventory management model based on EOQ, for which the respective diagnosis of the current situation of stock management and determine the causes that influence the current management of the area. The distributor of glass and aluminum presents certain problems in the management of stock of spare parts in its area of maintenance of fleet, these problems are associated with the urgencies of orders, order planning, and the total cost of stock in that area. For its development, the proposal of improvement carries out an initial diagnosis to publicize the current situation in relation to the management of stocks for the fleet maintenance area, identifying the critical causes that affect the management, later development is the development of the methodology or ABC classification, and application of the EOQ model, to find the optimum quantities to order, the number of times to order and the safety stock. To conclude, it is established that the systematic used and based on the EOQ model does improve the management of stocks in the area of fleet maintenance by reducing the current total cost of stock by 9%, this entails an economic benefit or savings of S /. 30 232 Nuevos Soles, as well as a reduction of the ordering urgencies by 39%, which initially was 44% monthly average at 41% average projected at the end of December, and whose cost as an improvement proposal amounts to S / 3 200 Nuevos soles, cost related to the training program aimed at the company's workers. In this way, the proposal shows that it is possible to optimize stock or inventory management in the fleet maintenance area of the glass and aluminum distributor, obtaining favorable results.
