The present study has the purpose to explore the relationship between The Caregiver Overload and Sense of Coherence in a sample of 48 parents (fathers and mothers), between 34 y 58 years old (M=44.15, SD=6.08), of adolescents suffering from cancer. In order to develop the study, it was used the Zarit´s Scale of Overload in Caregivers (Martín et al., 1996) and the Sense of Coherence - 13 (Saravia, Iberico, & Yearwood, 2014). Significant and inverse correlations were found between The Caregiver Overload and its Overload dimension with Sense of Coherence total score. Regarding the specific objectives, it was found significant differences comparing parents´ gender were only found in the Overload dimension, where fathers scored higher than mothers. As a conclusion, it can be said that there is an existent relation between Subjective Overload and Sense of Coherence, as a viable concept to understand the consequences of care and overload, as well as to predict a better adaptation to the stressful situation and the emotional impact that care implies.
