This research aims to make known the coping styles that executive women have, their emotional intelligence and the relationship between these two variables. This is a quantitative, descriptive, transactional, correlational and non-experimental research; which uses as instruments two surveys: (a) COPE 60, which identifies the coping style; and (b) Bar-On ICE, an instrument used to measure the level of emotional and social intelligence. The study was applied in a sample of 150 executive women in Lima, whose characteristics were to have a position of leadership with decision making, to have a minimum level of university study; and to manage human and financial resources. The results of the research conclude that 67% of executive women in Lima have a coping style focused on the solution of the problem, that is, they directly face the problem that generates the discomfort. The other 33% have a coping style focused on emotion, evidencing that they adopt an incorrect and passive coping with the problem, with the possibility of provoking negative effects in the emotional and productive aspects. Likewise, the research identified that 93% of the executive women in Lima have a high level of emotional intelligence. Intersecting the results of coping styles and emotional intelligence show that both the problem-focused and emotion-focused coping style present a high level of emotional intelligence, 97% compared to 84% respectively. However, the correlation coefficients between the variables of coping styles and emotional intelligence indicate that there is a low positive correlation
