The main purpose of the present research is to identify the personal and leadership characteristics of female executives working at the construction sector in Lima. Despite the fact that there are few female working at the construction sector, there are some success cases, which after several years reach top executive positions in the sector. For the past 12 years, the construction sector had an impressive growth, however nowadays is searching to become one of the main actors in the Peruvian national growth. Throughout the years, female presence in the top and middle management in industries within the construction sector has growth, however there are few empirical evidence about their performance. The main research question is related to the leadership characteristics of female executives who work in the construction sector in Lima. This is a qualitative research that allows to identify characteristics associated to female executives. There are four secondary objectives to further knowledge about: (a) professional development; (b) positions and role; (c) development strategies, and (d) leadership styles. Results of the present research would further empirical evidence on how female executives develop their careers in the construction sector. Furthermore, identify the main leadership style, and their personal characteristics and strategies that help them to obtain top management positions in a sector traditionally-dominated by men
